1. b) The annual fees of the Saturday afternoon school at Northbridge are in accordance to the following price list.

• Tuition Fees per student          $300.00

2. You make a non refundable deposit of $150 per student as an advance (against the annual fees) to the school bank account whose details are shown below,

a.) Pay the total invoiced amount minus the advance collected with the enrolment by 31st of March 2022.

b.) Pay the total invoiced amount minus the advance collected with the enrolment in three equal instalments payable through credit card on 30th of March 2022, 30th of June 2022 and 30th of September 2022.

c. ) Pay the total invoiced amount minus the advance collected with the enrolment in 9 equal monthly instalments payable through credit card on 30th of each month starting on March 2022 and ending on 30th of November 2022.

Centre for Hellenic Studies WA will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 in our community and follow the guidance of local health authorities and the WA State Government to mitigate spread and keep our students, staff and their families safe. Understanding that conditions can shift rapidly, the Centre for Hellenic Studies WA will remain flexible to adjust to prevailing conditions and continue to enforce prevention measures and strategies to the extent possible and allowable.

All stakeholders are committed to make the students’ school experience as normal as possible.

Parents and carers are welcome on the school site, but will be required to wear a mask if they wish to enter classrooms, speak to the staff or attend assemblies.

Parents and carers are not required to show proof of vaccination when: 

• dropping off or picking up their child from school, including entering the classroom 
• volunteering at school on an ad hoc basis (attending only one school/education facility no more than once per week) 
• attending an event such as an assembly, sports carnival or parent teacher interview. 

Students are to bring their own reusable water bottle for use throughout the day. 

Students will not drink directly from water fountains.

Students will be encouraged to sanitize their hands upon entering the classrooms.

Where students are exhibiting “flu or cold-like” symptoms at school their parents or carers will be contacted and will be required to pick up their child and in all likelihood have them tested for COVID.

For the Students

The Student Code of Conduct outlines the expected standard of behaviour for students. You have the right to participate in activities free from behaviour that may impair learning, safety and well-being. You are responsible for ensuring that you do not adversely affect the learning, safety and well-being of any other individual. You are expected to always treat others courteously and with consideration, including respecting personal boundaries.

The conduct expected is outlined in more detail below.

The following are a student’s rights at HCWA Saturday School:

• The right to learn, and play in a safe, secure, stimulating, and positive environment.
• The right to be respected and valued.
• The right to express ideas and opinions in a positive way, and to be listened to.
• The right to have fair access to school resources.

With these rights also come responsibilities, these are:

• To dress in a manner that is neat, clean and safe at all times.
• To act responsibly and work to the best of your ability.
• To respect the rights of fellow students and the teachers.
• To be cooperative and considerate.
• To arrive at School by 8:50am to be ready for class starting at 9:00am.
• To respect and take care of all classrooms and items inside of them. 
• To keep their school grounds and surrounding areas clean.
• To participate in school events, festivals, incursions, excursions etc as organised by the school.

For the Parents

Children learn best when school programs offer some understanding of their background. Therefore, a strong partnership between parents and the HCWA Saturday School becomes all the more important when the complex and rapidly changing nature of our society is considered.Our school, encourages participation because:

• Parents have a unique knowledge and understanding of their own children, being their first and most influential educators
• Parents have the right, through their responsibility to and for their children, to be informed about their children’s learning and to participate in reaching decisions which affect them
• Parents have talents, interests, energies and skills which enrich the life and program of the school. 

Parents have a responsibility to:

• ensure their children attend classes regularly
• cooperate with school staff, other parents and students in the interest of their child’s education.
• show an active interest in their child’s schooling.
• express their opinion in relation to school matters.
• communicate concerns in a manner which allows for positive action to be taken.
• support the implementation of school policies.
• assist the school in establishing a set of shared values and expectations.
• To ensure that all school fees are paid in a timely manner. In case of any difficulties, please contact the principal to discuss. 

For the Staff

The Principal will: 

• consult with parents and plan to promote parent involvement and participation.
• endeavour to foster the interest, knowledge and skills of parents who have not previously been involved.
• ensure that information is made available to parents, establishing new channels of communication where necessary.
• monitor and evaluate parent participation practices.
• include, wherever possible and relevant, parents in staff development and school development activities.
• address, investigate and provide feedback on, the concerns of parents when expressed directly to the Principal. 

Teachers will continue to work with parents to: 

• help parents feel welcome in the classroom, for example, through activities including class parents’ meetings.
• build good relationships with parents and children.
• ensure that parents have all relevant information about their children’s education
• seek the views of all parents on matters relating to their children’s education
• promote the idea of their parents’ participation among children.
• create a welcoming environment for all members of the school community. 

Working together to make a good school better

All of us:  each and every parent, the school principal, teachers and school P&C, have a role to play in encouraging and supporting parent and community participation in our school. 

There will be times when parents wish to query something or make a complaint concerning something which has occurred at school. 

So that we have the best possible chance of arriving at a solution which is best for all parties concerned, it helps if parents can give us a clear view of 

• What is seen to be the problem?
• What action or outcome is desired? 

In many cases, the class teacher may be the appropriate person to approach.  All teachers are willing to set times where they can meet with parents to discuss concerns.  Parents should contact the teacher to arrange a time. 

In other cases, parents may wish to discuss their concerns with the Principal. On these occasions, it is essential that parents contact the principal to arrange a mutually suitable time to meet regarding their concerns, as little can be done to address issues that are not communicated directly.
